Firedup! it has awakened

Its been 8 MONTHS since i've been on the road with my baby. my Silver RX-8. 8 months of staring at her siting in the garage.

Prior to the wait i was only able to log in 1 month of PURE fun. The day after I bought it me and my gf had a huge road trip here in BC, canada.

Now the wait is over.... PLUS MY ZAINO IS IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(first timer)

tomorrow is going to be HUGE... but im not fully stoked.

as you can see by my name this is my first car, and i dont know what things i NEED to do to get the vehicle back on the road in top shape without any worries. Im going to get new tires.

Im wondering what fluids i need changed and what precautions i should take b4 really going for a long drive.

Oh yah.. i got the engine recall in the mail, but havent got a chance to even move the car due to the lack of a lisence, plus i live in Prince rupert so I need to take a hour an sum drive to the closest Mazda dealership. This is what worries me most, i dont want it to die b4 even getting a chance for them too look at my baby.

I think im going hold off b4 driving her as hard as i use too.

ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. (on the engine, reviving, and Zaino)

Well first thing you should do is change the engine oil. As for other fluids, I don't think you need to change them simply because the car has been sitting for a while but I could be wrong.

I'd recommend you let it idle for a good 20 min once you start it because I remember reading that after a battery disconnect when the ECU resets it needs to "relearn" how to idle properly.

make sure you take it in before driving it hard, you don't know if your engine is one of the ones that needs the service so take it easy on her till then

and if it has been as long as you say you should change the oil atleast the other fluids don't need to be changed

So you lost your licence for 8 months?

Try not to lose it again. Exploring the limits of an 8 on public roads is not really a good idea for a novice driver.

Cool No Fair.....

You're not from round here are you?

No fair presuming he lost his license, I'm thinking he is in Northern Canada, our snow just melted this week.

Eight months off the road is a bit extreme, but not uncommon.

ok got a chance to respond here, just waiting for Zaino (z-5) to set

ya im from north canada, and basically as far west you can get. in British Columbia.

for the record i havent got a ticket with the RX-8 YET... knock on wood.. an yes i lost it.. few to many tickets... live and learn.. definately smartened up

Up here in the north we got amazing highway roads that twist and turn through many mountains and lakes.. its amazing.. i cant wait to drive it again.. this is where i have my fun

I dont think im a novice driver, but that doesnt matter because i know better then to drive like a maniac on public roads.. i just like to cruise around an look good... especially now that i got new wheels.. my silver rx-8 WOOOOOoo.. haha even after 8 months im still fired up..

thx for the advice by the way

danger?? ive been driving for 4 years, its not long, but im ive learned my limits, and the limits of the law

Come on... okay he lost his license, but he says he know it wasn't smart, that now he knows better than to drive like a maniac on public roads and he's ready to admit his faults.

He came here because he's psyched up about his 8 and is looking for fellow owners to give him advice.

Cut him some slack

I can barely understand what you are trying to say because of the poor grammar and run on sentences. I know this is a forum and not an essay, but at least use some sort of grammar so I can understand what you want to say. How old are you? You have been driving for 4 years so I assume around 20 or 21?

well if you cant understand me then im pretty sure i dont need your advice. jk.

I lost my lisence for minor road offences, but they added up. Has nothing to do with the 8. Infact, I got the notice of prohibition while I was on vacation with my gf and her little bro and sister. I have learned, served my sentence, and now I can leave all that behind me. thx for the back mandossa.

Im trying to get some advice on getting my 8 back on the road safely. plus some zaino tips. Sorry for not making that clear in my original post BleedUNCblue. I pretty stoked right now so i dont really care much for grammer and what not.

omG! my Z-6 spray bottle is empty! something must have happened during shipping. Do i really need it?? or can i just go z-5 then z-2?!
