someone hit my girlfriends fender at school and the quote she was given was a few bucks short of $1,300
now i got online and looked up a few replacement part stores and fenders are avg at $250 and i assume red paint for a single fender wouldn't cost more than $3-400
i dont really have a general idea as to the worth/cost of rx8 parts, but it seems to me that this place is just trying to screw her
does the quote make sense to any of you guys who may have ordered from mazda directly? perhaps they are charging her for an oem fender and paint?

 

Mazda's Velocity Red paint is pricey, because it has metallic flakes in it. It also depends if her car got scratched or damaged..

 

i guess i'll have to call around and see what the paint would run.
also, i never really paid too much attention, are the fenders metal or fiberglass?
