Following the links on those pages I got back to King5.com - which is one of the local Seattle news stations. The story was posted on March 19th which was a Monday. The story says the car was purchased the day of the crash - which was Sunday evening the day prior.

On Monday March 19th I went to a local used car lot that had a red RX-7 listed for sale on their website. I had been watching it for a while and decided to finally go take it for a test drive. They had sold it the day before.

What are the odds that this is the same car? I'd say pretty damn high. Assuming it is that makes this even more tragic. This was a one owner, garaged 100% of the time, only driven on weekends RX-7 with no major modifications and an immaculate interior. If I recall correctly the dealer was only asking $12,000 for it.
