Could we?

A lot of Evo owners upgrade their caliper to AP or Endless, the stock Brembo was sold cheaply.

If we could install these Brembo onto our 8, it would be a great saving for bbk.

Try sending a PM to the person in this thread that was going to try it.

But when it comes to brakes you should stick with parts designed for the car.

that sounds like a good idea. I guess it would require a custom mounting bracket, but that's pretty much it. Would they have to be ABS compadible?

ABS really has nothing directly to do with the caliper....the ABS unit modulates the line pressure to the brake ....so it will more or less react hte same regardless of the caliper. The sensor in the hub determines when the ABS activates....so you would be OK.

Save yourself some hassles and get the RB calipers....for the price they are great.....

how thick is that car's disc compared to the RX-8 disc and the available pad thicknesses, if they don't match it gets complicated very fast, not including all the adaptor hardware, unless you can make it all yourself a kit like RacingBrake probably makes more sense

then there's the wheel clearance issue, the 18 x 9.5 RPF1s used on the RX-8 won't clear that caliper by a mile, a friend of mine tried to put one of my wheels on his car and it wasn't even close

If UUC Motorwerks comes through for me, we'll soon have a 4-piston Wilwood caliper made from forged aluminum to use on the front with 2-piece lightweight slotted rotors. Effective brake torque will be significantly increased. Rob's still working on the rears but it's looking like two piece rotors back there with perhaps a caliper relocation kit for add'l leverage, along with a pad change. Wilwood's all-in-one rear caliper/parking brake drum solution isn't very elegant and won't be used.

The front pistons will be matched to our master cylinder's fluid capacity for precise brake control, something which couldn't be said for th Evo's Brembo setup.
