SplineDrive Nuts

Does anyone know if McGard SplineDrive Tuner Lugs work with the stock wheels? I've found threads for aftermarket wheels, but didn't see where anyone mentioned they use them with the stock wheels.

I guess you hate the wheel lock lug too since you have to keep track of the key...

I'm not in the habit of losing things so that's probably not going to be a problem for me. What are your thoughts on the actual lug nuts aside from your disdain for the adapter?

You haven't experienced any vibration or any weird steering problems? I ask because I need to replace a couple of stock lugs that got mangled last season. Last spring my mechanic put the stock wheels on with the lugs from my winter wheels and it noticably affected the handling.

You're using the regular splinedrive lugs and not the tuner lugs, right?

I have a set of the spline drive lug nuts on my car as well, I've had them on for about a year now and no problems so far. I got the black ones from ebay for $76 (shipped).

no, they came with a set of wheels that we use on an RX-8 that is primarily used for competition, not street use, so we don't use the wheel locks either

so they're a real PITA on a car that changes wheels often because the socket is intended for ues with manual toolsm not an impact etc, it has a hex head for a socket to be fit on it but no square drive like a ratchet, we have to use it and a socket in an impact gun, I just haven't had time to get rid of the damn things yet, on a street car that rarely changes wheels it's probably no big deal, the wheels are SSR Comps and the lug hole is too small for the socket that fits the OE nuts, you have to use reduced hex nuts with them, or the smaller diameter spline nuts
