:: OK So yeah You'll not have to hear all about "What I'm Thinking about doing" for awhile cause I done did it!

Got the RX traded in and only lost about $350 on that, the tax credit up here made all the difference.

So Without Further Drama and Yammering...

Here's Mortis. For those that have read you're Piers Anthony, "Mortis" is Deaths stead in the Book "On a Pale Horse". Well Mortis can change from Horse to Car, to whatever, and is Pale White.

Giddy as a school girl

The Headlights turn into the corners for ya, Which is a very Nice...

And to offset the Calm exterior, is some RED!!!

Lots of it, but I like it...

It's really NOT this bright, but in photos, for whatever reason the red just explodes.

No It's NOT as agile as the RX though. But then... There are few cars that are. Besides Linda is an excellent chauffeur if she's up for it.

Floor Mats are coming... Some things never change.

Very nice upgrade IMO. Looks great. It's always nice to see trade-ins like yours instead of someone trading to a Kia Rio or Ford E350.

Since he's probably out enjoying the car and the sunshine, I'll steal his thunder. 335i.

Thumbs up

absolutely beautiful revlis. congrats on the new ride!!

make sure to drop by www.bmwboard.com for hob nobbing w/ some fellow bmw owners/ enthusiasts, and post the pix of your new car there. i've actually found the group to be fairly helpful in answering questions..

too bad u couldn't keep the 8 and get the 3, but still- a great choice for a replacment. the 3 is bmw's flagship car and the most reliable. i've had mine since 1998 and absolutely love the reliability, styling, and the way it drives.

p.s. i read On a Pale Horse back in 9th grade, and yah- it was a great book.

I've been out playing hooky... Car had 7 miles last night, now has 107.

Not breaking her in TOO gently but I am being careful, still just grinning ear to ear.

Kristopher is correct. 335i, or E92. Twin Turbo Charged inline three, 300HP and 300ftlbs from 1300rpm through 6500rpm or there abouts. 6-speed nicely loaded.

I was pretty concerned about the red, it's SO vivid in the photos, but face to face it's not nearly so intense, saturated, but not screaming.

This thing is a kinda like all the best parts of my previous cars all rolled into one. Handling like the RX-8, (I said Like) comfort and Colors of my 1975 Coupe De' Ville, and Power of my 72 Plymouth Valiant Scamp with the 340. I couldn't be happier.

Think of it as an extra comfy 3500lb STi.

Thanks, I'll check it out...

I couldn't keep both, garage won't hold em' and I've got the bike already for my alternative transport and fun. Just going to get the wife into a CX-7 or X5 Whichever she's decides and we've about got the bases covered. Well accept for the Ferrarri599, and a New Rolls of course.

It is a nice car, too bad it has one of those funny up-and-down engines though

How long will it take to break in? No, I mean for real

Golly, I'm off the board for a day and look what you do!!!

I thought you said you wanted to go with us in your "bimmer" on the next drive?!

Ha ha... flattery will get you everywhere, and you know it . Of course you can ride shotgun again. It was a blast last weekend. My own private instructor . You just have to put up with the headroom

Thanks folks.
It's fun, sporty, not too big, not too small, fast, safe, and comfy. I feel like Goldie Lox, My porridge is at the right temp, and the bed is right firmness. Oh and I'm all giddy like a little Girl...

I guess the single biggest motivator was comfort... I must be getting old. That and included service/maintenance, roadside assistance, and ON-Board assistance for 4 yrs or 50K miles is pretty nice.

I am going to miss the Rx though. The BMW has a fantastic sound track, the engine and the just audible Turbo's make lovely music, but it's a little like Top 40. Where the RX-8 had a definite Alternative edge to it's engine note. I'm going to miss the rabid chainsaw and the "DOWN IN IT" feel of the Mazda. I feel so exposed in the BMW. That, and the BMW isn't as distinctive as the RX-8. I kinda grew to like the looks I'd get in the RX. I haven't been getting many looks in the new car. Not a big deal, but you know, it's one of those things.

Great, I was hoping you would! And sure, count me in - being a passenger will be interesting. (so Kristopher, looks like I get first dibbs on shotgun )

Goldilocks - CONGRATULATIONS on the new baby! (hmmmm... that name might have to stick )
