New 06 Shinka Good deal or not?

Red copper MT. Car lists for 34,600. Dealer will discount 3,200. Mazda has 3000 cash back. Drive off price of 28,400.

Seems a bit high to me for an 06 at this late date but I haven't been able to do better with several different dealers and several different packages. What do you all think?

I bought mine for $26,995 +fees in 12/06. copper red. Keep in mind that the +fees are added based on price before rebates, not after rebate. If you can get 28400... you did better than me....also 2006 has +1 more year of warranty than the 2007

I've seen ads from that dealer before. Prices always look good but Arizona is quite a ways from North Carolina.

Does the dealer have any other shinkas or RX8s on the lot? If you could hold off til May or so you could probably get another 2k or so off that price, but you risk losing the opportunity.
I got 8k off an '05 GT in June of '06

I've been watching and this is the last one I have been able to find. I plan on making my first in person visit to the dealer tomorrow so I'll make another attempt to deal a bit more.

Seems fair. I got mine for 27,800 two weekends ago. There are not many left.

Well I picked it up today. Got the dealer to come down another $1000 so I grabbed it. $7,200 off list plus tax and tags. Of course being an 06 if I went back there tomorrow to trade it in it would only be worth $10,000 off list. I feel like I got a good deal though. Car is beautiful and the 06 has a longer warranty than the 07s.

why is the warranty longer on an 06 than an 07???

was it used and certified - hence a longer warranty.. or are the warranties different on 06 vs 07 models??

Mazda changed their policy. Plain and simple.

06 warranties are 1 year longer than the 07 warranties. I noticed that when I was deciding between my 06 CR Shinka, and a 2007 GT. I went for the Shinka for numerous reasons, but one was the warranty length.
