Are You F*ng Serious??? BLIZAH!!!!

So I'm putting my 19s back on today, and I'm on the driver side front wheel. While I have the 17" wheel off, i take a long screw driver to make sure all the fittings for the turbo piping are tight.

Well i notice the pipe running from from the intake to the turbo... is really loose. And then i notice, whats that - A FREAKIN GASKET??? - Then i notice both bolts holding the piping in are gone.

I CALL SABOTAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:D

So yes, i'll be going to the hardware store tomorrow to buy new bolts. Anyone know what size bolt fits in there? Width, Diameter, Threading?

I'm glad i noticed this today - it would probably explain why my car isnt holding boost like it once did. I wonder how long this has beeng going on for, and I'm actually very lucky nothing seriously wrong happened during this time. Then again, I'm not too suprised the bolts fell out... there is no place for a nut on the back side - so overtime i can see how a bolt could make its way out.
I Can't wait to get this put back together and see how the car runs - WOOT WOOT!!

Cool Wash it....

I think that's a pretty good fit, considering your poor bolting skillz!!

Looks like at least a 14mm bolt. Make sure you add a lock-washer to the bolt when you re-assemble.

DUDE - thanks so much. That made my day tomorrow a whole lot easier. I was about to setup shop at the autozone parking lot - trying each bolt... one at a time. Now i wont need to :D

If you did that you would have to post a video of you trying a bolt, and when I doesn't fit, yelling various profanities and throwing it at the AutoZone guy and screaming

Hmmm thinking lucky the gasket didn't get sucked through the turbo.

The bad thing is that since that is on the intake side of the turbo, you could still make boost but you could have gotten sidiment, debris, etc in your engine as that is after the air filter. You a/f ratios could have also been off if air was coming in there as it is also after the mass air flow sensor. A good catch none the less. You don't want to hurt or blow up your engine because 2 lousy cheap bolts came out!

Maybe put a little Loctite Blue on the threads before you re-install the bolts.

I use the Blue whenever I don't want the possibility of a bolt or nut loosening up, particularly if it is hard to reach. Just stay away from the RED as that is intended for permanent installations.

Hmmm, does that side of the turbo get much heat?

(Loctite doesn't do much around heat).

Have you tried the GREEN? DON'T. You'll need a torch to heat up the bolt., or it ain't coming out.

So i made some test runs last night - and the difference was HUGE!!!
its good to have the 8 back to where it once was. I think it appreciated it too.

When getting on the H1, i only reved up to about 6k RPM in 3rd gear, but when i got off the gas i could hear the VOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH. I'm not talking about just one pop, but an entire array of flames coming out the ***. I wish i could of seen it

Anyway - the car is holding boost at redline like it used to... right at .5 bars

Now its time to get back on focus with the original project (1 Bar to Redline)
