more time slips?

I don't want to dwell on the 1/4 mile time issue since I've driven an RX-8, love it, and respect it for it's well-rounded personality, but I'm curious about any recent episodes anyone's had on the strip. I've seen the time slips posted on rotarynews so I'm not in need of "proof" in this regard to determine my potential ownership...

Anyone with 14 second timeslips?

First I would like to add the disclaimer that I do NOT own a Rx-8.

I do drag race my own car alot though and hit the track whenever I can afford the day of lapping.

It seems to me that there arent enough posts of people taking their cars to the track and reporting the times. I did find one person who hadnt dragged before who posted. However, people ended up pretty much taking stabs at him or Mazda for this and that.

Question: Who has a fast time for their car in the quarter? What was your trap speed? Mods, 60' time, etc etc.

Even with the disgruntled supposed 170-180 rwhp, it seems the car is still capable to put down decent times if driven professional or outright beaten into submission

I am just hoping some people out there do more drag racing than G-teching or dyno-whining.

Well, after looking around I did find some other quarter mile times boardering on the 14's (so close, so close).

Sorry if this thread sounded harsh, I was just curious since I think the car is pretty damn sweet even if it has a few inherent power issues Sorry to you guys who this bugs, I hope Mazda makes it right real soon.

PS: I drive a mildly modified 2000 Subaru 2.5 RS.

I promise that anyone of your RX-8's can knock the wheels off me, lol.

I might run my car over a weekend though with the lower temperatures lately I don't think I'll hit what has been quoted. We'll see

Lower temperatures will actually make your car quicker. Lower temperatures means denser air which means more hp. Your engine computer will also run more timing with the colder air. Cold air is good..... cold tires are a totally different story.

I've seen a few posts where people have said they will be going to the track in a couple days or so and will post times then we never see any times. Maybe they go to the track and don't do great so they don't post because of how other posts have turned out, maybe they don't get to the track... But I get the feeling some people are holding back and just not posting.
