Last night my wife came in and said her car just shut off by it self [05 black RX8 29000] and the dsc light was blinking , then stayed on . I rode with her and it seemed like if you useed the window switch to lower the window it was a drain on the battery/ alt . We drove around for a while and then dsc lihght just stayed lit not blinking. I told her park it and we would come back in 5 min. Started the car and everything is ok????????

shut off when? at idle ... at interstate cruise speed... at a stop light?

generally the dsc light will be on when starting after a battery disconnect .. and off again if you shut off and turn on the 2nd time.

Why? because the dsc loses calibration, and the manual says to re-calibrate the dsc function, you need to turn the steering wheel all the way to the right, then left after a battery disconnect.

so perhaps check the bolts are tight on the battery posts , no corrosian, get a battery capacity check.
