Anyone stopped for no front plate in NYC?

Will cops ticket you for JUST having no front plate (assuming you're not speeding, running a light, driving recklessly, etc.)? I'd really like to remove mine—but not if the cops hassle you for this. If you are ticketed for this alone, how much is the fine? Is it a moving violation? Do you get points on your license? Could it affect your insurance premium?

i got "pulled over" when i was already parked on the side of the street! well for having 2 different license plates on (vanity front reg back) but i didnt get a ticket for it because he said, "we're here to fry bigger fish".

for some reason i think i doubt you will get ticketed for that and that reason alone. its usually a kick in the nuts ticket when youre already down for something else. =p

The real answer is can you get a ticket.. Yes, will you get a ticket is a gamble you have to be willing to take.

I am not sure where you drive around, but if you take a tunnel with a check point, you are just giving a cop a reason to pull you aside.

Totally depends if the cop want to be an a$$ or not. Most will tell you to put it on, and let you go.

I think that in NYC they have much much bigger fish to fry than a nice looking car w/ no front plate. Just keep it int the trunk. If you're not tearing around the roads, they have much bigger problems.
