Reality TV series to film at San Louis Obispo Garage
Central Coast, California:
An SLO car shop and wine tasting room will be set up for the television series "Uncorked", this weekend.
The PBS reality show is visting Peters Automotive, a garage that shares space with the Cerro Caliente Cellers. The show will feature wine being bottled while a nearby vintage car rally takes place. After winning multiple awards, Peter, a mechanic, converted part of his car shop into a tasting room.
The public is invited to taste wine, check out vintage cars, and possibly appear on the show.
The car rally and wine tasting begin at noon at 831 Via Esteban, in San Louis Obispo, California....
Might be fun if some 8s showed up - sort of like a "new Beaujolais" - a wine so perfect it is treasured it's very first year!

Don't know, just found out about it today and am passing it on. Paper indicates they are looking for car lovers who enjoy the finer things... Don Peter's was a long time Auto mechanic who started making wine in his garage - and he started winning awards..

Not everybody hangs out in the lounge - more in general automotive, and some just check out the club sites - this just got announced in tonights Tribune so that means even most SLO natives were unaware - I think they were bringing this in under the radar to really get just people who are into fine cars and fine wine - with the tie in being this award winning mechanic...This is a college town - can you imagine all the 'volunteers' that would show if they had publicized a couple of weeks in advance?

Hit with title 3 times - of those, one carried additional information
41 responds on this thread
11 responds on Lounge
10 responds on California micro area only
Lounge hits indicate different group of people than responded in club group, based on names on posts -
Whom shall I leave out next time?
Assuming you checked out all three posts, plus your imaginary one, are you going to show up tomorrow, or just sit here revving your engine?

Since when is a new Beaujolais an insult? They have people who fly to France just for it's annual release and they fly it back and hold Beaujolais parties here! Do you have a better preference? Ok OK you do - I know it's some thing old and deep and from a big oak cask in the heart of Burgandy, right?
Oh, this may hurt more - the same gangsters shot a reality program on wine making where they took these 12 wannabees ran them around to different vineyards - tested and tasted their progress and it will run this next season on PBS... Much of it done in SLO area....

Nova? Leonard Nimoy? Discovery?!?
Those guys still talking about how we might split the atom someday and how the Pyramids were built by aliens?
Nothing like having your TV viewing broken into small, digestible chunks separated by has-been local news talking-heads begging for money.

Seriously, I'd take a blue RX-8 to an even like that. Those last-second casting calls can be fun. I went to one for an independent film which was shooting in the area. They put out the call through the auto-x e-mail distribtution list. Just a handful of folks showed up, mostly classic roadsters, all nice folks. Made for a nice 1/2 day, but we didn't get any wine - just coffee.

No link that I know of - lots of car there and not all before 60s, had some that were less than 10 but modified or unique in some way, even a home built. The Lincoln guy said that it was one of the best rallys he had been to, better than some he had paid to attend- free wine, free shirts, lots of postive strokes, and everybody with their hoods open talking cars - the 8 fitted right in - its the style more than anything - It got filmed but I don't know if it will make the final edit. Free T-shirts for the combined Winery and Car Club - Check out Granny Blog from yesterday for discription - wish more 8s had been there - will post if we made the final cut.
