AC Light is on after ignition even though the A/C was not on beforehand

AC Light is on after ignition even though the A/C was not on beforehand
My A/C light turns on when I start my RX8, even though the car did not have the A/C on when the car was previously stopped. This does not happen all the time.
I have taken it in for warranty, and the dealer says that the light turns on if you leave the car in defrost mode.
Do other people experience this same issue?
