Just wanted to say hello to all the other RX8 owners out there ! I have been following these forums for about 6 months and reading up on them for about an hour every day... Alot of good information out there and for the most part these forums are alot more mature than most.

I, too, am new to these boards & in Houston.

I'm assuming since you've been watching for a while, you have an FE, correct? Or are you still in the market?

Also, if you don't mind sharing, where are you Houston? Give us a general location & description so we can keep an eye out for you if we're on the road

 

I live in La Porte and I own a 2005 whitewater pearl RX8 with approx 10,500 miles on it with no modifications. Got tha reflash done a few months ago and average about 22 mpg. Looking very seriously into purchasing the Pettit autorotor for my first modification. Then i might get the windows tinted...

 

Where'd you get your flash done and why? Did you have mods done already?

On a different note - where is la Porte in relation to downtown houston? I used to live on the far northern edge of Houston (the Woodlands.... ugh) so I have no clue where anything is due to how long I was trapped in "the bubble".

 

Don't tint it too dark. I have 35% huper optiks tint and it is nice. Too dark and you go into what the cops say is crouch and gun approuch mode...

 

Yeah im gonna tint the windows the darkest legal tint allowed and from what ive seen isnt too dark

La Porte is south houston area in between Pasadena and Baytown (sort of)

And by reflash im refering to the dealership reflash Mazda performed I assume to increase oil metering at low rpms...

 

were in houston are you located?

 

I'm on the west side of downtown, just a few clicks away from Maz-Max (convenient)

If you see a Brilliant Black RX-8 GT that's always going 20mph over the posted limit...
