Question About the Two Tone colors...

All of you all that have the two tone colors in your RX8, I have a question for you. Will those colors fade or discolor if you are seating in the same spot or holding the steering wheel in the same place on lighter colors areas? I thought the yellow might show this constant wear over time. The two tones looks so good but I was really worried about the wear. I guess only time will tell. Please let me know if you all have seen anything like this yet.

Hi James, I believe different makes of leather would wear differently, it depends on the dyeing process. If you're referring to the factory fitted leather, I think it's still too early to tell. By the way, there isn't any factory fitted yellow leather.

Thanks!! I guess I still would have the same discoloration concern with the non leather seats, too. I do not know what kind of fabric the Rx8 seats are, but years of use and sun have to wear on differently on different colors. You would think...

I have a red 8 with black and chappareal or brown interior.
I would think and hope no fading occurs

In the initial concept, Mazda did have yellow/black leather combination (which is that image that you've attached) but they didn't make it into the production line. You can have it done aftermarket thought, remember seeing in the early post by East Moon San when they had the first 2 meet ups, one of the yellow 8 had the interior re-done up in yellow/black.

The chapparal will probably wear better over time than the red.
