They had every color in stock--
I saw the green for first time
The green has more metalic flake than any other color in person

I'm telling you guys... the Tustin Mazda people really like to jerk you around. My friend purchased a Miata from them. When he was driving off the lot with his brand new car one of the salesmen called him a "Jack A$$". They also freaked out when he decided to pay in cash...... yes... dollar bills....for his Miata. At first they said they weren't going to take it and that he needed to write them a check. After he finally convinced them that he wasn't a theif or a drug dealer they took it with reservation, but not without trying to get him to finance the car anyway. He said he spent more time telling them that he wasn't interested in financing than the actual deal on the car.

The also are being particularly nasty about making a deal. However, they have let me test drive an AT and a MT. =)

I wonder if these RX-8's at Tustin have the "Port Campaign Code" sticker inside them, or if they are newer than that. Given all the mpg problems with the first allotment, I'd feel better about buying one that didn't have to get an updated ECU flash map in port.

Anyone want to check?

I just got back from Irvine Mazda. The port campaign code sticker is under the hood to the right of the latch. Irvine Mazda didn't have as many as the mazdausa.com website said they have. They have like 10-15 I think. The website said 35 or so.

If I end up buying an RX-8, it'll be one without the port campaign code sticker. In fact, I want to see if I can't get an August 2003 build.

I posted this on another thread, but I'll say it again here: I think Tustin Mazda in Orange County (Calif.) may be ready to deal on RX-8's. They've got at least 20 out front and even more in the back, and now they've got the windshield advertising stickers on the cars. "Buy now!" and "Fun car!" in cartoon-y lettering. I wonder if the fleet manager feels like they got way too many. All of those dealer holdbacks melting away as the RX-8's sit on the lot!

Maybe they are ready to deal. I have had SEVERAL phone calls from the Tustin Mazda. They are really pushing the RX-8.

I'm going to go in this weekend and check them out. If I can work a deal I'll keep you guys informed. So far the deal we are working on is:

MSRP
6% APR
0 Down = 664 per month
8000 Down = 430 per month
10000 Down = 405 per month
4000 For my 01 Mustang (should be around 11-12k).... insulting

I'm sure they'll drop the APR if I push them. And I'll probably have to sell my stang privately.

Expect stats from the Tustin dealership this weekend unless someone else beats me.

6%? Check out Capital One Auto Finance:
http://www.capitaloneautofinance.com/

I don't know what your credit is like, but I just got a loan at 4.25% there. That'll be one extra thing you won't have to negotiate on.

Hummm....

Sounds like Mikeb might be working at Tustin Mazda.... maybe? =)

Newport8 thanks for the info. I was going to go in there and tell them that I could get a better deal on financing. If they didn't want to match it they would be losing out on all the oodles of cash they would be making off me.

My credit is 780+ so it shouldn't be an issue. Hell they were willing to let me walk with an RX-8 with no downpayment. =)

Mikeb.

What was your take about them? Did you have any problems or feel slighted or cheated in anyway?

Just wondering because a good friend of mine had a bad experience with them buying a Miata.

I like tustin because when I was looking for a 8 in July everyone in orange county told me good luck see ya in september or october. Tustin mazda worked with me and called me everytime one rx8 came in. I got my 8 on July 27th and I would recommend my sales rep and sales manager that helped me but they no longer work their. So some managment there has changed and I don't know how good there sales reps are now. But , I do know they have tons of rx8's
