Update: Conti Extreme Contact snow driving

Ok, so I've driven twice in the snow with them. In the rain, they are like glue, very pleased. Now the snow:

Driving at the beginning of our first snowstorm (8+ inches), I had mixed results... hills and turns at low speed (accelerating from a stop) was very delicate. Seemed to be ok once at speed. Experiment: downshifting while breaking is a definite NO.

3 days later, driving early morning on country roads where ice/snow were still on roads was MORE dangerous than at first snowfall. My morning 10-minute drive to the gym turned into almost 25 minutes...

DEFINTELY better than the Potenza summers, but seems that just the slightest snow/ice mix causes slipping/spinning. Will give updates as I go...

FYI... these are on stock 18 rims....

I nearly bought those two years ago. Glad I didn't. I bought Pirelli 240 Snowsports instead and they work great. Drove to work in blizzard conditions this morning without a hitch. All hail the might 8.

I wanted all seasons as I couldn't justify rims and tires. It's liveable, I will just be careful I don't get caught 200 miles from home when a snow storm comes in...

Living in WI, you may have to bite the bullet. In Cincinnati, with very few days of snow on the roads, I could justify all seasons.
