I was at fx.org, I have a 45, and someone there found it and it is an actual law. The burden of proof is on the dealer and even if an aftermarket part was the cause of a failure only that part that failed is voided not the entire warranty!

so tranny 1 got rebuilt...now 1000 miles later im getting locked out of 3rd gear @ 9k and service tech says i must have made a misshift and destroyed syncro. so they are getting me a new tranny and said my tranny warrant is done after the swap. so can they go ahead and void ur warranty because they feel you drive the car hard and found rubber in your wheel well?
This tranny is 1000 miles old so never got around to the syn fluid. My 1st tranny was running RedLine MT-90. Only 2nd to 3rd gear at 9k is effected. I think he screwed up when rebuilding and is just looking to pass the blame on someone else.
It is for Arizona. I'd say it IS the law for every state, but you should look it up in the internet first. No problems in asking, you're just trying to be sure. I'd most likely say California would be different though
