Ok, i've calmed down enough to post.

I just rolled into my driveway after purchasing my rx8. Imagine your 8 was made of fingernails and imagine my driveway is a chalkboard and you can roughly imagine the sound i heard as i pulled into my driveway. The angled concrete that transitions the road to my driveway absolutely devoured something under my car and it made it smell like burning hair. I'm upset because 1) i have to figure out a way to get it back down before tomorrow and 2) this is where i park, short of parking 3 blocks away and walking.

So anyway I thought i'd post here because i'm sure some of you guys with bodykits must have encountered a similar problem. SO short of jacking my rx8 up like a redneck blazer, or sanding the sidewalk down by hand, have any of you come up with a solution to a problem similar to this? to be clear i don't have a kit, it's just the undercarriage rubbing on the concreted. HELP!

go in slow and at an angle, one tire at a time..

Back out at an angle and you should be fine. I have owned several dropped cars and this usually works if you go slow.

 

i have 2 2x4's at the end of my driveway sitting side by side, works out perfectly.

it must be pretty steep, a factory stock RX-8 has decent ground clearance

 

Where in Brighton do you live? That's a one heck of an angle.

 

yes angles are for sure your friend....and do NOT attack speed bumps head on either if you dont have to!

back out VERY slowly, making sure to take it at a good angle. You should be okay

 

My dad gave me the same advice before my wedding night. Cool.

Also, the burning smell may actually just be the plastic strips burning off of the exhaust system, I and many other 8s had the same smell when new.

 

i'll post a post tomorrow, it's a complete difference entering the driveway. i'm just worried about how many i'm gonna have to add once i get springs.

 

Oh, I was agreeing, a friend and I did a permanant setup at his house for his 7.

i like going up driveways and entrances at an angle....my outside rear tire will actually lift off the ground.
