Anyone here paint/powdercoat their stock wheels black or gunmetal grey on a blue car? I'm considering doing this and want to know what it looks like. Please post pics!

Pics of any color car will help me & others get an idea so post those too! Only ones I've seen so far are on a yellow car.

Brainstorm: White Rx8, high gloss black OEM wheels, deep dark tint

 

I don't have any pics, but a suggestion...

How about:
1) Dark tint all the way around
2) Blue body with BLACK painted ROOF & Pillars
3) Then...the shinny black deep dish rims

Sounds good, no?

 

I'm with you on everything except for the roof; I'm not a 2-tone man. Just my preference though. Point of the thread was for cheapos like me who could maybe sneak a powdercoat into next month's budget but not a set of Volks.

 

Hey, your not alone in that. How much is it to powder coat 18" anyways? I'm thinking white...

 

If you can drop off just the bare rims you should pay under $300 for a set of four.

about $200-240 for the set is prices I've read of people getting it for.

 

thanks expo. However, I don't like 2-tone or anything other than 5 spoke on an 8. Does help the picture in my head though.

 

Looks good to me. Real low-profile and subtle. Not the "HEY LOOK AT MY RIMS" look.

 

Its sharp I'll give it that. Though personally I'd much rather see a nice dark blue (for the car) instead of the current color.

yeah I had seen those. Forgot about to mention the two black ones. One looks good and glossy the other is just flat spray paint (bleh). The one black one and the Yellow are what inspired this for me.

C'mon, blue, silver, grey, white, red (whole wheel), green or any of those special colors? Anyone paint them something else like gunmetal? or white?
