My first post here.
I have had my RX8 for 2 years now, and just replaced the OEM Bridgestones with Kumho Ecsta SPTs after 24000 miles.
The tires are good so far (500+ miles), but I have noticed reduced braking performance. Anyone else experience this after replacing your tires with the Kumhos?

Mine are just fine. I have just over 500 mile on mine also. I've settled with 36 psi all the way around. Quiet ride and very comfortable. They seem to flex more than the RE040's and dont have that crazy dry traction, but with my drive the Kumho's are a better tire. Very predictable in the rain...probably their best property (besides the price).

When they are new they are going to feel slimey and squishy....like they dont get into the surface and just sort of float around on top.

 

Love mine. Good product for the price. Beside I have dedicated tires and wheels for the track. I dont push mine on the street.

Mine are still good about 10,000 miles on them now. Im kinda of suprised how good they have been working for me in the rain. But I haven't noticed any reduce on braking, could it be your pads?

 

No problem here. Your fluid needs to be flushed out. It's been 2yrs and 24k miles.

 

May as well throw some stainless steel brake lines on while you're at it. Corksport sells 'em for about $80 for a full set. It's quite a steal.

It changes the way you modulate the brake pedal, it's not the mod for everyone. I hated it, but some people swears by it.

 

It's kind of like putting a stainless steel clutch line on. The stock rubber lines tend to swell for a brief moment, causing a tiny lag in response time. With the clutch that means it may grind if you shift too fast. The brakes feel a bit stiffer when you put the lines on, but you'll get better response time, not to mention the new lines will last longer than your car.
