Mazda Safety Inspection?

I bought my car a little over a month ago. Since then, I've had the flash upgrade done as part of the ECU recall and now Mazda called me and said I need to have a Safety Inspection? WTF? Does anyone know anything about this? Is this normal for all new Mazdas? I asked the Service Dept. & they wouldn't tell me much other than they're going to check my recharging systemsl, alternator, voltages, etc. They also said it would take 2-3 hours!? Do they not do this prior to delivery/sale? Or is it to make sure everything is copacetic? Any info. would be appreceated.

Accually, it is supposed to be done while you are in finance. It should only take an hour at the most. Is your car an 07 or an 06?. If it is an 06, you will find spark plugs in your glove box that should have been installed as well.

Mine is an '06. Plugs in the glove? I thought spark plugs were part of the ECU recall? Why would they put plugs in the glove? For me to install?
