Mazdaspeed Wheels

Whats the deal with mazdaspeed wheels? I think the aluminum colored aluminum ones (aka not the gold looking ones) are real nice looking. They say they are $610 each, but they also list the factory RX8 wheels as $500 each. Does mazda have any sort of you-pay-the-diff upgrade if you are buying a new car, or do you HAVE to buy the mazdaspeed wheels in addition to the factory wheels?

If you're buying the car that would be up to the dealer to decide if they want to charge you for the difference or the full price of the Mazdaspeed wheels. I would guess that it would be difficult to find a dealer that is not going to charge you full price for the Mazdaspeed wheels. They have to order the MS wheels to stick them on the car and the dealer isn't really interested in stockpiling the OEM wheels.

That said, Rosenthal Mazda has the Mazdaspeed aluminum wheels for $516 ea. The dealer I bought my 8 from will price match any online dealer's prices so maybe you can save some $$ if you decide to go with them.

they are some nice wheels and are expensive cause they are forged in the rays factory in japan.

Its not the price of the wheels that bums me out, its the fact that you can't get JUST mazdaspeed wheels, you have to buy two sets of wheels. I really like those mazdaspeed wheels too....

I actually prefer the original mazdaspeed wheels. The mazdaspeed2 wheels look more like they are for show, while the originals look more like they are a racing wheel made to also look nice. (please ignore the fact that they are all for show anyway :-) ) I guess the question is, how much do I really want to spend on this car. Actually I'm still waiting to see if this guy wants to buy my Acura anyway, pray for me please (if religion is your thing)
