My brother goes on here. He said he recieved a card that gets you 10% off Craftmen tools for joining, something I think rx8club should do too.

Freshalloy.com...whao thats a name that I've not heard in a long time. I used to be on there back when I had a 350Z.

G35driver.com is a very good board. Did your friend get a 2007 G35?

Dood theres a ton of aftermarket support for the VQ35 engine. S/C, T, and TT the VQ35 is used in some many applications, it only makes sense that they would have more aftermarket support. But, yes some on the guys on there are pushing over 600hp.

As of now the Rensis has proven to be very hard to produce an FI application that can add more then 40-100 hp range.

Really? The VQ35DE makes 600hp on stock internals? I read that they usually start to fall apart over 400hp.

Normally, my understanding is that aftermarket parts for "popular" performance model vehicles start flourishing when the used car market for the model picks up. My feeling is that the RX-8 is relatively new and once cheap used models enter the market to be gobbled up by tuners, we'll probably see some serious numbers being made in the years to come. I just hope they don't cheat by swapping out with an RX-7 powerplant.

If I have my figures correctly, the VQ35DE has been around two years longer than the Renesis. Furthermore, the VQ35DE is used on a number of Nissan's vehicles and they also have a larger owner base. Thus, aftermarket support is bound to be stronger for Nissan's engine.

Not true at all. The biggest problem has been that no one wants to pay to make their car faster. You could have a 400 hp Renesis tomorrow if you wanted to. Many different car type owners are willing to pay more for turbo upgrades for their cars. The rotary community as a whole has almost always been cheaper than any other car owner group. It's always been this way. It didn't start with the RX-8.

There is no ****** way.... you are correct sir. They do have a pretty weak bottom-end, at least the older ones anyway.

471whp on 93 octane tune is the the highest output for a commercial tt kit (APS) on stock internals. if hes talking about crank hp that should translate to 600hp if theres a 11.5% drive train loss. probably 620-630 crank hp if theres a 15% drive train loss. anything making more than ~471whp is not running on stock internals.

Just my girlie 2 cents being tossed in..and I am sure they'll be thrown right back at me..

BUT my bf drives a TT G35--so I hear about it pretty much NON-STOP because all it has is problems..

On stock motor and stock internals, it can push 9lbs of boost MAX (maybe 10?) without blowing up. Some guy in NC evidently does a TON of Z and G tuning and can raise that a little bit, but anything after that is done, you need all new stuff done to it.

He has like..10k on his turbos and already his engine is showing serious problems..Oh well...At least the 8 is doing ok. lol *knock on wood!*
