Is Feb. 2006 build date good?

I'm planning on purchasing one with a build date of February 2006. Is this ok, considering all the recalls? Thanks.

I just bought mine with a March 06 date and when I registered the vehicle with Mazda, it said it had no recalls. If anyone else knows more about both Feb. & March built cars, please chime in.

It's probably included in the recall for compression testing & plug replacement (2004-2006). Ask them to do the recall before buying it, so you know whether or not anything else needs to be done to that particular car.

if it's still 'brand new' on the lot, you should request the dealer to perform ALL recalls before signing anything

recals are under warranty. Even if you bought it without signing a contract stating they had to be performed. They would have to be performed anyway. Hell you can take in a 93 Rx-7 and still get the 1996 brake line replacement recall for free if it still hasn't been done.

I bought a Feb 06 built date off the lot one month ago. The compression testing & plug replacement was already done on the car. I wasn't sure if there are other recalls that I need to worry about. Hope this helps.

why waste an additional trip to the dealer when he can just get it done before delivery

My 8 was built in Feb. '06 also and when I made my appointment with the dealer for the recall, the only recall that came up on their computers were the emissions test, and the extended powertrain warranty.

The recent emissions recall covered '06s built either up to or through June. My '06 was built in March, and I got the recall and the extended warranty.

If the car is new it hasn't been driven enough for problems (if any) to surface. They'll do the flash and you'll be fine. According to the dealer instructions for the recall, though, they should have already done it to any that were in stock.
