ok, i've had problems with the second gear grinding, and reverse not poping out of gear or grinding a little, yesterday wither my tranny of my clutch went out, i dont know wich one so i hope someone can help, i got home and changed to go out, i got in the car, started it, put it in reverse, but it wont move, i tried it for like 10 minutes, and nothing, so i said oh well, i pushed the car back, and went my way, but.......the car makes a lot of noise while driving, first and second gear berely works and even fith grinds a little, i can even put it into first or reverse while the car is on and at a dead stop without touching the clutch, and it makes that wierd noise on every gear, so any idea of what it could be, some people have said tranny, and some have said clutch, pleas help me out

 

i think your transmission went out... get ready to go through some hell with warranty because they didn't cover mine when it went out. same thing first and reverse doesn't work and sounds like pieces of metal inside the transmission are floating around when you go. We took my transmission from the dealer and had it taken apart by a transmission specialist... he said it was just a bearing that went out... mazda told me i abused my transmission though... hmmm.....

 

no warrantyfor me, it has a rebuilt title, and with the mods i have it would have voided it too

 

ouch... about 4 grand for an oem. the only reason i was upset about the whole situation with warranty was because i was running about 20 in 3rd when suddenly a noise started coming from the transmission and first and reverse worked no more.

 

im just going to look for a used tranny, hopefully i can find a cheap one, or maybe rebuild it
