Has anyone heard of any progress in LED tail lights?

I read a while back about a guy that was installing something like 30 LED's into the stock tail light housings, giving it a g35-ish look. There was talk of a possible DIY or purchase option IIRC. Anyone know if there's any progress being made here?

Looks like the drop-in replacements for the tail lights are 7443s but the most I can find is a 20 LED bulb. If he's really doing a G35 look, it's probably a custom job.

Yeah it was a custom job- I just was wondering how far he got on it, or if anyone else has attempted this. I can't seem to find the original thread.
