DIY Rotor Rear Fog light in the making
Here is a picture of the half done fog light test fitting. Still brainstorming about the type of LEDs or bulbs to use. It's best of both world: It's cheap DIY while getting what I like :D

Now to think of it, still debating about wheter to mount with three srews to expose the corner or put three LEDs for hilight and mount it using hidden screws inside. Anyway, I will post my final result, now only if I can find a dual bulb holder

Almost just have to install the darn thing. Was so busy these days! And will be taking a vacation next month. Hopefully, I will have time to take pic of the install this weekend.

As it is not an option for Australian model I have the light ship from Japan (Mazda JDM)
I have mine install by the mazda dealer today. It works wodnerfully. Have the DSC button changed to a dual fog light/DSC off (each occupy one half). The wiring is pain. They have to strip off the steering coloum casing the dash board. The front panel (driver side) wire the thing thru the driver side door. thru the boot and have the rear bumper off to wire and cut.
Fortunately if have factory made ALL bumper have bolt sets that ready for fitting (no drill required) ~ Well except the cutting of the rear triangle

Can you tell me please where exactly they cut the rear triangle? I got the same JDM light yesterday, and went to install it today. Problem is, it looks for all the world like the foglight is too big to fit through the triangle!
I wasn't brave enough to start cutting until I posed the question on this forum... where exactly do you cut? The inner edge (around the diameter) of the triangle?
Finally, can you please post a close up pic of the fog light? All the pics I've seen so far have been from like 15 feet away. I need a close up to see how far into the cutout the light sits.

Did you have the instruction book to come with the lights?
I saw in the instruction book (not with me - still in Mazda dealer - I was going to pick that up Monday). It said that you cut the most inner bit of the triangle from the inside - hence you have to take the bumper off. You still need the inner side of the triangle for supporting the fog light.
If you want the installation booklet I can scan it on Monday or email you a photocopy if you like.

I think you need a Japanese - English translator as it is in Japanese. Anyhow - the pictures say 1000 words in the booklet and even the Mazda mechanics can read (no offense).
AND yes I think $A200 for labour is kinda cheap

Yep. The light itself was like $88, as I recall, and comes with nothing but the light. No idea what a dealer would charge to install it, but most likely a coupla hours of labor.
Depending on how you wanted to wire it, you might also need to get the Mazda factory switch, which is about $35 from CanZoomer. Or you could use your own, if you're comfortable tapping into power from somewhere, then running it to the switch/light. I got the factory switch, but may not use it. Initially I plan to tap the rear fog into by rear brake lights, so I have a "low mount" brake light. Think that'll be kinda unique, and will save me a lot of wiring effort. If it's too bright for that, I'll try to get a lower wattage bulb. And if that still doesn't work out, I'll wire it to a dash switch. We'll see.
Problem is, it didn't come with any instructions, and I wasn't willing to go cutting on my rear bumper "underskirt" till I knew for sure it'd fit. Takahashi is going to send me some close up pics of the install, and email me the installation manual. It's in Japanese, but I think I'll be able to figure it out from the diagrams.
