NM Feeler: 2010 rx-8 r3

Year: 2010
Make: Mazda
Model: RX-8
Price: $20000
Mileage: 54000
Color: Aurora Blue Mica
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (US State/Canada/Int): NM

This is purely a FEELER post. The picture of it next to my FD is what it currently looks like. The picture of it by itself is before I put the carbon fiber hood on. Over the years people have either come up to me or left notes on my car looking to buy my R3. I’ve never entertained the thought of selling before and I definitely don’t need to sell it, but money might talk to an extent. The only reason I’ve considered selling is because I picked up another project car, a RX-7 FD so the R3 has been relegated to being another garage queen with the monthly spirited drives.

I know what KBB values it at, but since I’m not committed to absolutely selling it I’m not letting it go at current market value so to put a number I'll say $20,000. Call it sentimental value, but if someone who can appreciate what I’ve done to it in addition to the level of care it’s experienced makes a good offer I may accept letting her go. If I don’t respond within 2 days you can assume a response won’t be given. Clean title. I've retained the stock parts I can think of (airbox, shift ****, radio unit, catback, cat pipe, front bumper, wing, etc which I can throw in for a bit extra) for those purists that prefer a stock car except I for sure don't have the OEM undertray and uprights as well as maybe the stock oil cap, with maybe a few other smaller items I don't recall at the moment. Maintenance records on myCarfax show my oil changes, inspections, part changes, Mazda full circle inspections, etc. I’ve got a bunch of receipts for things I’ve done to it also.

I purchased in 2012 and am the second owner from 16,000 miles. It's at 54,XXX. The car has always been garage-kept since I've owned it. It's started weekly beyond just a warmup when not driven during the winter season. Oil is changed about every 3,500 miles with 10W40 conventional Castrol GTX. Samples are sent to Blackstone Labs for oil analysis and every report points to it being a healthy engine. Haven’t had it compression tested except the time I bought it and two years later. Car is in eastern NM with the nearest Mazda dealership two hours away in Lubbock, TX. If a potential buyer is interested they can meet me and pay for one to be done. But, there hasn’t been any reason for me to compression test since I’ve driven it halfway across the country and back last year (NM to CA) as well as several 1,000 mile roundtrips to Colorado Springs without any hesitation quarterly with no issues whatsoever.

The engine bay plastics are painted Aurora Blue Mica and I’ve kept major stock parts, but have made the following mods:

1) M'z Custom front bumper (the concept Mazdaspeed bumper) painted in Aurora Blue Mica with Stormy Blue Mica accents. I have the rear bumper skirts painted in Stormy Blue Mica, but they're not installed.
-The M'z Custom front bumper has clearbra installed.
2) Mazdaspeed wing (Stormy Blue Mica)
3) Viper LCD two-way alarm system
4) Huper Optik window tint 30%, 50% full front windshield
5) AEM Cold Air Intake (blue)
-metal BHR air box tray painted Aurora Blue Mica (instead of the stock OEM ugly plastic)
6) BHR ignition kit (installed at exactly 30,000 miles with new NGK iridium spark plugs at the same time)
- NGK iridium spark plugs changed again at 51,000 miles
7) LRB Speed aluminum undertray and uprights
8) Pioneer NEX 8200 head unit
- maintains steering wheel button controls and features electronic gauges (fuel, OBD II codes, air temps, etc)
9) Autoexe steering wheel
10) BHR midpipe
11) TurboXS catback and BHR midpipe
12) Mazdaspeed front strut bar
13) Mazdaspeed rear strut bar
14) Mazdaspeed oil cap
15) rear cargo tray
16) VIS Racing carbon fiber hood

You should provide more images to aid potential buyers in their decision. At the 20,000$ asking price, you need to be proactive and provide as much information/illustration as possible to not be dismissed immediately.

are you talking about the OEM R3 hood and wing, or the carbon fiber hood and Mazdaspeed wing?

I don’t mind payment via certified check from a financial institution as long as it clears. Financial institutions permit vehicle financing all the time, but you would have to apply through them. If they finance for the full amount that’s great, but if it comes in under you’d have to pay the difference.

I'm considering driving this car at the end of the month to southern California and leaving it in storage in anticipation of a move early next year so I'll have less cars to move then.

Welcome to SoCal... where abouts will you be moving to? Be sure to come to the monthly rx meet we have in San Diego if you’re in the area.

Interested in your RX8, if you could email me at arulvdog@gmail.com with additional interior pictures and Carfax that would be great. Located in NorCal so I could probably drive down if it seems like the right car. Thanks.
