I thought the LQ4 was a 6.0 not a 6.2.

How functional is the dash? Any extraneous warning lights?
Which ratio rear-end? 4.44, 4.30 or 4.78.

What are the odds it will pass plug-in (OBD-II readiness monitor) emissions testing?

LQ4 is a 6.0. This motor was honed a little to accept ls3 pistons. The entire dash works. Engine light is on in the dash though but there is a second light installed in the ash tray for the motor. There is a obdII port for the motor, however there is no cat, thus it will not pass emissions testing. Lights that stay on in the dash are engine and battery light.

Rear gearing is 4.44, so 70 mph in 6th gear is around 2500 RPM. Very short 1st gear, I typically start in 2nd unless I want to light the tires up, you can still do that in 2nd gear too though.

Thanks,

I apologize, I have not visited this site lately. Vehicle is still for sale. Have been talking to a guy in South Beach about him possibly acquiring it, but for the time being the vehicle is still available. The vehicle has the Hinson bump steer kit installed so no bump steer issues.

Thanks,

Robert

If you hook up the OBD port to the GM ECU and take care of anything that would throw a code, it might actually pass...

I wonder if the VEIP computer checks the ECU VIN code against the registration. If it does, still screwed.

I believe the VIN can be changed in some (many?) GM ECUs.

Correct.

If you can get it through an inspection with no cats (or just install them), getting it to pass an OBD-II in Maryland is very easy.

Late post.....
op showed me his car a few weeks ago. life is crazy right now so apologize for the latest of this post.
its a solid car. Some cosmetic issues ( to be expected for its age)
its tight, performs well and very functional.
some odds and ends do need addressing but you couldnt do a swap like this for the asking price.
thanks op for being a solid transparent guy
