The car is the rare 40th Anniversary edition. Only 1,000 40th Anniversary cars were made. The number on the road drops everyday. This model is valued higher than other model Rx8's due to its rarity. The 40th Anniversary cars come with unique 18" alloy wheels, Bilstein suspension, Unique exterior paint, Unique red interior.

There is allot of interest in this car. Dealer/Mechanic even said I should keep it. The car looks and drives great. I really would keep it but I need room in the garage for the convertible.

I have rented a Digital Rotary Compression Tester and I will probably do the test X-mas week, so check back soon.


Car is equipped with a credit card keyless entry system. The key was just replaced and reprogramed at the dealer (Almost $400) and works great.

The exterior of the car is a unique Metropolitan Gray paint which has a ton of pearl that glows in the sunlight. Absolutely no rust on this car, it is garage kept.

It needs to be rotary-specific. Don't just let them use a sparkplug adapter connected to a pressure gauge with a bit of hose.

Done properly, you will get 3 pressures and an RPM for each rotor.

Be sure all recall work has been done. Good to show proof of that to any prospective buyer.

Yes - All the recall work has been done. I will use the tool you reference above to double check.

Great feedback. When I get a chance I will take it to the dealer and get it done. When it was at the dealer last time (A few hundred miles ago to get the key re-programed) I asked about need for compression test or any other inspection/maintiance and they indicated there was no need, they saw no issues.

Racer27 my dealer felt my 40th Anniversary Edition had no engine issues, but I insisted on a compression test with just one month to go on my Mazda warranty back in 2016. The compression test revealed my engine was on the borderline of low compression numbers. So I got a Mazda remanufactured (reman) engine under warranty.

We here all want you to be successful in your sale. 40th Anniversary Editions are rare and special. Good compression numbers will sell this car to a knowledgeable buyer. Good engine condition will help you get your full asking price.
