this is important for us California people. I have had two Rx8's now that have enough cat to pass the Ecu monitor test, and have no check engine light, but still fail the tailpipe sniffer test by a wide margin.

the problem is that the only CARB approved cat is the stock one for $1100.

my only suggestion is that before your gets out of emissions warranty, that you get a smog check.
