So this group buy is now the same price as I can get it on ebay? Well not being much of a group buy, I was going to get this anyway so put me down for one lip in carbon fiber.

Oh I checked the first post. GB cost: $179.00 + $45.00 shipping =$224.00.
Ebay cost: $189.00 + $35.00 shipping = $224.00. So as I said, same cost here as it is there, but neither one really matters because I am going to purchase it anyway. I know some have had their problems w/ Evo-r, but it has always been quality products that fit the way they are supposed to for me.

Money has been sent, I look forward to receiving this!

so whats the point of the GB if your paying the same amount regardless? i thought the point of a GB was to make a deal with everyone... this isn't much of a deal, considering at first it cost more than ebay "stating you forgot" then lowering the price, but yet its still the same price as ebay regardless.

i understand Evo-r makes quality products [besides the issue of the rear flaps that didnt match] but that is not the point here.

Group buy or not, I was going to purchase this lip. That I didn't save any money over the amount I was originally going to pay is irrelevent to me. Now if I was on the fence about this, a lower price would have pushed me over so I agree as a group buy it is just not very effective. Since I was just able to source a trunk w/o the OEM wing now was the time to get it. Thought I was going to save a little $ w/ the GB, but it is what it is... just my situation, others may be in a different one and have a different opinon. I will leave that up to them.

that is a good point, in your case, but i still find this very unethical. if it wasn't for you [finding out the true price that has been overlooked] it would have been too late for some people. why? well because i find it odd that he says he "Forgot" yet the new price is "said to be lower" than that of ebay, but when you add everything up it is the "same as ebay". what is the point of the GB if you can get at the same price somewhere else? usually GBs are made to give members a good discount on an item based on how many people sign up. this has neither of those specifications. regardless of how you put it i still find this a bit fishy, and would not expect this kind of trickery from a vendor, even though it has happened many times on this forum.

^i agree. A lower price is what a GB should be. If he lowers the price more depending on how many people order it I'll grab a cf one.

it's called a "group buy", not a "group discount" for a reason

this isnt the first time a group buy has been the same price (if not more) then you can find it elsewhere.

If you look on his site he normally sells his CF one for $289 he also has it listed on ebay for the lower GB price. His FRP one is listed on the site for $189 and he has lowered the GB price to $139 here.

I don't see the big issue, I forget stuff all the time with what is listed and how much. I am sure it won't be there for long as he obviously has lowered the price here for the same intention in moving the product quickly.

So move past the marketing/pricing mistake and either buy it or don't. Jay has been around this community since 2004 and has brought many products to us I think he deserves a little more respect.

I brought this to his attention and he redeemed the price so I purchased one for the GB price, no longer an issue as the price is now lower than before and im saving money coz i live in australia =)

as said above rrp is alot more than this price, check his website.... if you think its to much then buy the real thing from japan and see how much that will cost you.

ok, i get the part your saying about "forgetting", but when he states that he lowered the price than that of ebay, but then regardless its still the same [just increased the shipping a bit] it starts to get a bit shady.

I understand your point but from my point of view he obviously wants to sell it at that price. I have bought things from Jay previously and is extremely fair in pricing, I know some may expect a large gap in margins but that is not always the case.

The best way I can explain it is not the best choice of marketing was employed while using ebay at the same time.

Quality products, good price. No complaining from this end of my purchase. I understand the complaints people have, but like I said in my earlier post, this is what works for me. Each of you have to decide if it is worth it to you for yourself, but I can say you will have to search long and hard to find a better price for this lip.... even then I don't think you will have much luck.
