Shift Kit

Hey does anyone know if there is a shift kit or aftermarket torque converter for the AT?

Keep us informed about the pressure riser. I am also interested in firming up the shifting and already have trany coolers (2).

Living in the warm weather of Vegas I knew that I needed some trany cooling help so I added the first one - after 3000 miles I checked the fluid and found that it had a slight smell of burning. I added a second cooler and that solved the problem so then I added the RP fluid. Keeping in mind that I drive the 8 very hard in some very hot temps the results have been great. I now have the interceptor x and have raised my shift limits up and am sure I need additional help. The pressure riser should make the shifts more positive. I may need a larger radiator (and torque converter) if the effect is what I am hoping for.

I did not know that interceptor x had anything for the AT. I met a guy today who had the greddy turbo on his AT 8 and he said he had to have it tuned, but overall he loves it. He is only pushing 5psi but he is pushing 300whp. I did not get into what other mods he has but thats not bad at all.

Would that be Rick from Rick's Rotary? 300WHP seems a little high for the amt of fuel the inj. can supply. Unless he put some massive ones in.

Petits SC is only making 210 whp with the stock inj. at 6 psi.

I think he was running NOS as well like I said I am not sure what other mods he had done but yes he even showed me the results from his dyno.

The line pressure riser wasn't the "gift".
This was.

Wasn't trying to mislead you...

Dave - did you (or anyone else) ever install and test the shift kit?

If you find one somewhere let me know as I have been bugging the different manufacturers and all I get is "we are working on it" or a "maybe soon"

It would definitley be helpful to improve the shift speed. Especially the 2nd to 3rd shift near redline. That one pisses me off at every track day. I think I saw Easy complaining about it too (found a post by him in one of my searches). I have the same issue he mentioned - slow 2nd to 3rd with some slipping sometimes.

Unfortunately you are correct. I'll call them one more time.

Well I did, sort of. I bought it and installed. It was ASSumed that it would work with the 8's RC4A-EL since it was based on the 3rd gen Rx-7 R4A-EL. But the TCM's are diffrent and the valve body control is a little different also.

It does not work. The TCM is too fricking smart for our own good.
LevelTen has some interesting stuff. I like this one personally.

I already knew that the 7 kit would not work. I don't know about this Level 10 set up, got some interesting information from others on them.
