Date is SET! Mark your calendars! Saturday July 18th 2009! A "real cruise", this cruise is being planned from MAZDA HEAD QUARTERS "MNAO" in Irvine to San Diego! It will be from MNAO to San Diegos lovely Belmont Park at MISSION BEACH with a Pit Stop for Gas somewhere inbetween and another stop at San Diego's lovely Fashion Valley outdoor/indoor mall with 4 level parking (no fee). After a quick look around at all the WIMMINZ at the mall we can go for more at Belmont Park @MISSION BEACH. I will work on this thread more as time goes. Ive been to San Diego using this route and have never been in heavy traffic, the only traffic we'd see would be when freeways split or merge, which is very little. Here are some pics.

Date: Saturday July 18th, 2009.
Starting Location: Mazda Headquarters Parking Lot, Irvine
Time: 10am SHARP!
Departure time: 30 minutes after start time
Destination: San Diego Belmont Park @ MISSION BEACH
Directions: North on 405 => South on 5 => Arrive at San Diego
Exact Destination: Belmont Park Parking Lot
Price: May Vary depending on duration of stay
Activities: Photo shoot at starting point and ending point, Food, Drinks, the usual beach shenanigans.
Duration of entire meet: ???

IMPORTANT NOTE: PLEASE BRING CASH
-There is no parking fee, but do bring money for food and stuff.

Cruise Details: Depending on the size of the group, will determine on how many groups we split into. Being the whole cruise on a freeway with multiple lanes, we most likely would have no issues on being just one big group

-No burnouts

-No speeding during cruise

-Drive responsibly - there will be other motorists on the road trying to get to places - please do not block them. We are all headed in the same direction.

-Avoid making unnecessary erractic movements through traffic

-Very Important: If you get cut off from one group - please do not attempt to catch up to your original group - simply fall back to the trailing group as speeding up might get you pulled over by CHP.

For those who are thinking "How Much $$$ Am I going to need?" We'll Ive done this run from Long Beach (near IRVINE) to San Diego many times. You will need-
- Full Tank of Gas which will last you there and back from starting point (about $40)
- Money for food all day depending on how you eat (about $20-30)
- So probably about $60-70 unless you pack your own lunch or eat from the dollar menu, which is ok. FOOD IS FOOD and comes out the same way...

Im going to work now so I will work on this thread more tomorrow, It'd be nice to see about 10-15 cars as I know that not everyone can afford the trip, or has the will to drive. The drive is about 1 - 1.5 hrs ;-)

 

you guys should bypass through Temecula and hit up the Palomar roads.

A palomar mountain run would detour us about 45 min more, that and I never been so San Diego peeps please shine me in on it. Im down for it also, but then again others might not. Some might just want to go straight to Belmont Park (Mission Beach) or Fashion Valley Mall...If we get a popular vote then i guess "yes" would win. So fars heres the list....so far. Its gonna be a nice ride and Im looking for at least 10-15 cars or more if possible. I got some two way radios to keep us together. Hope you can join us. I would recommend Cheetahs on Clairemont Mesa Blvd. between I-805 and Rte. 163.
