Attachment 253881 who's car is that? |
ZUMN: it was probably all the stickers that put him over the top. We all know how awesome stickers are
My vote would have been to the reigning champion NgoRX8. Custom HKS turbo ftw. |
09Factor: I'm not very good at this whole "following instructions" concept so I started my own picture thread. :D: ;)

My vote would have been to the reigning champion NgoRX8. Custom HKS turbo ftw. Chelechuce: Its NGORX8's - Danny, just as Jedi posted. EDIT: Jedi: Hands Down. I texted and asked several people throughout the day on "who do you think won best RX8"... even people whos 8 was in the courtyard. They all said "Danny- NGORX8" But in the end- thats just a piece of glass with letters on it. We all know whos the Best RX8. They need to have a different voting system for SS, let each Rotary Generation vote for its own. There is only 1 entrance to the courtyard/show area. Each rotary car entering should be handed a colored ticket for its generation rotary (SE3P, FD, FC, FB, RX3, RX2, Rotary Truck, etc.) and have boxes into which one can cast their vote. :yesnod: :dunno: I met some new to SS RX8 owners that were in the pre-stage lot and they were all going  GAGA over Dannys car.... |
nah, probably not harsh enough. Guess im just sick and tired of seeing crap and people on here trying to pass their cars off as quality. But I loved your rims.

Hell at this point if my 8 even ran, plus all the work done, it's not ready to show. not at SevenStock at least. This is where the Best Rotary's come to show and compete with one another for the Trianglar Clear Best Of... Award Didn't we at one time vote for a a peoples favorite? |
09: haha, I knew you'd see my way of thinking. :D:
we did used to vote and for a second, I thought we'd be doing that again this year considering the main lot passes all had numbers on them. |
Seriously, zip ties pink, red, orange what ever the f#ck does not belong, that shyts crap! Cracked bumpers, f#cked up body kits dont belong at a show. I appreciate all the people that spent the time on getting their rides up and ready! For Christs sake atleast wash your cars! You know who you are! No wonder all the old school rotary guys(rx2/ rx3/ FD &FC) talk shit about the rx8's. Im not defending RX8's anymore. Again, big shout out to those who brought out their A games!!

The car being a Mazdaspeed and not an R3 or Series 2, Ill let him slide on that because I doubt there are any die casts of those models just yet, in that scale size. |

I love the SS with the Vertex kit. It's taking everything in my body to not spend my financial aid money at Vertex Lang.

see the little swirly figure on the top of the C pillar?
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_AMPW4y_H6z4/TJ...0/DSC00444.JPG That's the Iannetti Logo :) and its not there ONLY for the seals :) those 3 cars are also running exhausts built by Iannetti. Whereas other teams even in grand am can go through an exhaust system every race, SpeedSource goes 6 races. I was told that when the cars come off the track you can almost put your hand on the mufflers. |

painful because of the way it was modded... or because of the scars its gotten from drifting?
|
Saturday morning I went down to the restaurant in the hotel for breakfast. I sat down to eat right next to this young Japanese guy in a Mazda shirt. After eating for a bit we introduced ourselves and made small talk about where we were from and what cars we had- he drives a 2nd gen RX-7. talked for probably half an hour
2-3 hours later Berny is introducing Hayato to everyone else http://lh5.ggpht.com/_AMPW4y_H6z4/TJ...0/DSC00459.JPG Hayato Kato Joined Mazda in 2006 as a Rotary Engine engineer. He is one of 60 people in the Rotary engine team at Mazda. His first project was the Series II RX-8 engine and he now works full time and full tilt on the 16x. His main work is oiling systems and a bit of the intake and emissions. Spent a good amount of time talking with him off and on throughout the day and at dinner. Great guy glad he's on the team. He came came from Hiroshima on his own dime and went home with one of the 7stock banners. The other banner is going to Japan as well for Koby, who for the first time since #4 missed a 7stock. We'll see you next year Koby. I know everyone is enthralled at 7stock with all the great cars, and there were some awesome things to see Saturday- but this is why I go to 7stock. I've now got a friend who is an engineer on the 16x. I bounced from a conversation with Francesco Ianetti, to a conversation with Sylvain Tremblay, To a conversation with Hayato, To a conversation with John- the guy that wrenched this car while it was driven by Patrick Bedard http://www.jalopnik.com/assets/resou...06/11/7Led.jpg To talking with Sara and Adam Burgess (Sara has a kick ass accent) of the BMI 4 rotor drifting car, to Dr Kiljoy holding the the trophies hostage(I've got pics- or rather he does since it was his camera) until Calvin and Team SpeedSource rescued them. To hanging with Paul and his Fantastic Friend- who coined the term Mazdout Saturday. To hanging with BHR and Socal guys and gals and AZ crew. I even got a ride with Ray. Reminder- in case a delightful , charming young woman ever asks if you want to see her jump rope tricks. Your answer is yes. Some of you may have wondered " Where is the Furai?" ............ Just one question- where the heck was NYCGPS? we spent hours trying to find him amongst all the other gabbing and nary a hair on his head did we see. O did you guys see the red anodized strut bar? there is only 2 in existence- I met the person who built them and you all saw his car- the injen intake tube with the RB box.... He might be making me one of those braces. His car makes 223 to the wheels and I cant tell you everything he told me:) but that injen tube is not the production tube. He left a little more in it than the production tubes, just in case :D: I know Hayato and the rest of the Rotary team in Hiroshima are working as hard and as fast as they can- Im hoping that in 3 years we can call it Sevenstock 1.6 |
:suspect:......:squint:
|
pdxhak: I agree, it was painful to look at that thing.
I should have take a picture of the 50mm spacers he had on! :uhh: :banghead: |
not to mention the shittiest paint job i've ever seen. Did you guys also see his 50mm spacer in the back? that was terrible!!!!

Event was a ton of fun, they should hold it every year. Here's one from the post 7stock beach cruise (took way to many photos to thumbnail them all). Can you identify this Maniac? |
^ they do and after the support they got and attendance from Rotards Im sure they will host SS14!!! I cant believe it when the courtyard and show area got full to where they had to send rotaries coming in back out!!!
|
yeah man, so many 2nd gen rx7s had to be told to park in the general parking cause the main floor was filled. I think this was the highest attendance of rotary cars ive ever seen
|
^ not only that but last year not as many oldschool Rotary trucks and RX2-3's came out to play as they did this year, I was amazed.... i really liked the fact they came out to play.

The one that was especially hit my heart was the COSMOS that showed up |
i think sevenstock VII had the largest amount of 2, 3, and trucks so far. But thats also the year where FDs were the most abundant rotary car there. Now FCs are xD
|
7/7 was filled with Old Schools - it was awesome.I was happy to see so many this year. I saw this one Silver REPU after it was over that drove over to the courtyard- i want that truck
|
Im shopping around for a roller RX3 73... Dont care about the condition.

http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/p...3/101_7834.jpg btw 7stock was fun and yes there was lots of nice cars... |
relax bro, Mikes car is badass and he's a cool guy. We actually spoke for a while during 7 stock and I even kicked it with him the majority of the time last 7 stock. What people are trying to say is that there were other cars out there that had twice the amount of work done to their cars but came up a little short. For example, sure Danny won last year but this year he came back with an entirely different turbo piping setup not to mention a new exhaust and a tucked engine bay. 95% of the work was done by his own hands. Thats dedication and people like danny, jorge, tim could give a f#ck about being featured by all those hype blogs. I give Mike props for having insane wheel fitment but many of you nuthuggers need to understand that hellaflush illest and all those other hype blogs are not the final word.

mike actually has more stuff done than just wheels and a drop, as for the stickers he just reppin the folks that show him love he's had features on fatlace ,hellaflush and speedhunters ect.....theres a reason why he has been featured on these online mags... maybe the stickers did take him over the top who knows lol just cause you guys dont feel that he should not have got it doesnt mean that everyone feels the same, i dont see any of your cars getting featured, so i guess he's doing something right. take some notes fellas put more stickers lol. i just dont see the need for all the hate.

There definitely were a handful of amazing 8's out there, that can't be denied :icon_tup: How were the courtyard 8's chosen? I don't know if I'd exactly consider the choices all to be on the same level, to put it nicely. So many pictures around, I'm not going to bother posting mine. I wanted to take pics of the drive-aways like last year but didn't have the opportunity to, gf wanted to leave early :( Looking forward to next years event! edit: Deedubb, "Mike's Cousin" doesn't take criticism of Mike's car too well, careful what you say. Mike, your car did look great! I'll end my semi-off topic posting now :lol2: |
careful what I say? For stating the facts?
7 stock needs to judged based upon points. There also needs to be other categories for each chassis. Best engine bay, best paint, best wheels, etc etc. There was a year when of all people Razz won best rx8, how he won that year I still have yet to find out. |
