SSX was a great time thanks to...

Despite the rain it was a fun event. Cant wait for next year when our car will be done and ready for show.

Big thanks to Charles R Hill, Mazda Maniac, and Phils8 some of the coolest guys you will ever meet. I shall be talking with you guys soon!

Also I ended up with the door from the #70 speed source rx-8 that was in a recent crash. It is autographed by david haskell, sylvain tremblay, and 2 other crew members! a rare piece indeed =D

Well, I thought this year's SevenStock was not as good as SS9. i didn't mind the rain but I think it's a contributing factor as to why not many cars showed up. Last year had a lot more cars, the 8's basically wrapped around the back to the front near where they had the old schools parked. The parking lot was FILLED to the max last year, there were no space that some of the cars had to park and block off the food court. Unfortunately, due to the rain I believe, there are a lot less cars... I was hoping for it to be bigger. Well, I had a good time though, I just hope next year would be like SS9.

DXT-Motorsports 09-23-2007 05:11 PM

i thought it was a decent turn out do to the rain. When i was going to sleep the night before i heard it start really coming down. I honestly thought there was going to be less people

Did you go to SS9? SSX was considerably a lot less than SS9.

chickenwafer 09-23-2007 05:50 PM

Had a great time, I wish I was able to meet more people and put more names with faces on the forum and such. Next year I think I'll just wear a shirt that says "chickenwafer" on it.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Paradox/Mazdamaniac booth and said Hi!

...actually there may have been more cars that showed up this year. Many people parked in the parking garage over by the Ford building, and never brought them out after the rain and rollout. When I was leaving I counted (and took pics of) no less than 40 cars rolling out of the garage and I heard quite a few more before I made my way down to that end of vendor row.

Some of those guys got sideways pretty good too.

tajabaho1 09-24-2007 09:57 AM

damn man, it was a very fun event, I was hoping to buy somestuff though, but nobody was selling (ahem ahem) because of the rain......

MazdaManiac 09-24-2007 10:54 AM

Thee were just as many cars if not more.
Because they did so much better in their organization (and the separate vendor area), it seemed like less.
Really, the only people the rain scared off were the spectators.

Rotary people are WAY too hard-core to be scared off by rain.

tdiddy 09-24-2007 02:54 PM

I had a great time and got to see more rotary cars and enthusiasts in one place than I ever have before. I thought it was a great turnout considering the early weather but as MazdaManiac said, rotarty owners are dedicated.

Thanks to all of our hardcore volunteers!! Thanks to the supporting vendors and their Raffle items.

And of course I'd like to thank my group of SoCal Guys and Gals, whether in the Raffle Booth or the T-Shirt Booth, you all rocked!!

Keith, thanks for hanging around the Banquet, I'm glad we we able to accommodate you also. But there were some LEECHES that showed up and crashed it. See my thread over at the RX7Club SSX forum.

See you next time everyone, and thanks for coming.

-Andy Lee

and DXT-Motorsports.. it wasn't a DONATION from you was it? :icon_no2: That's not how we roll at SS. Very uncool means for that ultra prized raffle item.
