Tokico d-spec on a S2

Has anyone had any luck installing dspecs on the S2? I have heard that the 04-08 d-specs wont work well with the S2 because of the difference in the way the rear strut towers are compared to the S1. Any validation on this?

Well Racing Beat said their springs will lower the 09s three quarters of an inch instead of the half-inch like on the earlier cars. Then he came back and said that he doesn't know if any springs will fit the 09s. Then he said he'll have to call the factory in Japan. Then he said they don't know either. The whole thing has become a nightmare. I just wanna banish the ridiculously soft rear suspension I'm sick of the roll oversteer! If you never went over six-tenths you'd never know that the rear end comes completely unglued shortly thereafter. The back of the car isnt even in sync with the front. It looks like coilovers may be the only option. I know nothing about TEIN, I've tried KWs and didn't like the damping feel compared to KONI yellows--which cant be adjusted in the rear once installed and can't be used anyway cause no springs will fit the 09s-- so it looks like I might go with the Bilstein PSS9s.

If you didn't like the KWs, another option is the Ohlins DFVs. This is what I'm running on my MY09. Of course, they are more expensive.

Just ordered the PSS9s! There now I don't need to think about it anymore. No more lifeboat handling! Although I might have to 86 the Dunlop 2050s, lets see how they do with the coilovers...Thanx to SOI08 for help, but sorry I didn't buy yours lol.

Just curious on price you paid?

I can't believe how light the stock Tokicos/springs are ( threw em all on the scales they are 40 lbs), esp. compared to the Bilstein coilovers. They feel as though they might have come from an Elise. I should have weighed the Steins before I put them in. Anyhow, my new .5F, 1.2R camber is choice! Might try .7 next but thats all. The tech said .9 was correct up front for my lowering amount. 1.2 was as little as he could get out of the rear. Steering feels better too, as does the rear end when I'm really pressing. To hell with everyone saying more camber is better and that they can't get enough!

BEEFY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You can't compare weight of springs to a full coilover.

think about it..............
