Series II Swaybar Specifications?

Hey everyone. So unless I really suck at using search and Google.. I can't seem to find the specifications for the front and rear swaybars for the series II RX-8. I noticed in ASH8's post that the front and rear were changed, but it wasn't explained what was changed or their diameter.

Anyone happen to know? Reason I'm asking is because I'm looking to get rid of this heavy-ass Progress Technology rear sway in favor of a lighter swaybar that equals about the same mm diameter as the Progress Technology swaybar on the soft setting. Thanks for the help.

Sorry, I cant find specs...
But I can give you some info..most you probably know.

For Series II RX-8 OK..

Rear Stabilizer...
ALL S2 models use the same two rubber bushes (FE87, Not S1) and bolting plates (FB01 same as S1).
The Bar itself is showing 3, one Hard (R3), Sports, or Normal Suspension (same as S1).

Front Stabilizers on S2.
Again 2 front brackets are the same for ALL series RX-8's.
Two Bushes, Normal (F151-34-156) same as S1, and then Sports and Hard bushes (F189-34-156 not S1).
The Bars themselves , Normal (F151-34-151A) same as S1, and then Sports and Hard Suspension for R3 (F189-34-151A Not S1).

The Sports and Hard Suspension uses a different Front Bush (I think it is just a harder compound rubber) but the Bar differs between Normal and Sports or Hard (R3) suspension.

To confuse the issue again, my own Australian S2 Luxury (USA GT) uses the R3 front stabilizer bar, but not the same rear (same as late S1).

Hope it helps?
Cant help you with Progress Tech Bars..

OK, done some more research for you...

I did some editing in earlier posts as the information I posted was for Australia and UK markets, not that there is any real difference, just model type use.

Sizes or Diameter (this is for the US market)..

Rear Stabilizers...

Series 1 and 2 is the same Diameter wise (except the R3).. 15.9mm (0.62 inch), 16.0mm (0.63) for R3.

Front Stabilizers...

Series 1 25.4mm (1.0 inch), the Sports in Series 1 26.5mm (1.04 inch).

Series 2 ALL 26.5mm (1.04 inch)

Appreciate you digging that up Ash, was just looking for S2 R3 swaybar info. I haven't had a lot of issue at the track with the stock bar setup, on PSS9s. Considering trying out an RB or Progress front sway to see if there is any real difference.

unfortunately that info alone doesn't mean anything without also knowing the wall thicknesses

Thanks Ash. Mark has a good point, but we won't know that unless we cut one open I presume.

Mazda doesn't usually provide that info publicly. You can get close by miking the stamped arm end and dividing by two.
