Brembo Big Brake Kit on a Series 2?
I've read that RX8s come from the factory fitted with excellent brakes. My 2009 GT has 36,000 miles and I think it may be time to replace the pads and possibly the rotors. Besides the stellar looks of Brembos, would the investment of roughly $2,800 provide noticeable gains in braking performance? I plan to only upgrade the front so I'm think of selecting the silver ones so I don't have to paint the back calipers to match. There are other less expensive brands so please offer your recommendations if you have them installed on your RX8. I have 18"x9" Enkei PF01 wheels which should have ample clearance for the larger calipers.

Do you hit the racetrack often?
if no, then don't bother. if you do, then you prob still don't even need to bother |
Racing Brake for the weight savings.
If you track often then just get 2-piece rotors you'll save money in the long run... |
There is NO need for a BBK on a street driven RX at all, this is unless you are a looks whore

What a waste of money....You don't need Brembo's.

As one of the posters previously mentioned, if you track often and hard, a Racing Brake BBK can be a good upgrade.
They will deal with extreme heat better than the OEM brakes. I know, mine have been on fire on track and yet haven't faded or warped. If you don't track often or at all, you probably don't really need a BBK. But hey, they do look great, and that may be all the reason one needs! |
will the racing brake bbk fit the oem wheel of the grand touring?
