Weird Noise/Vibration (etc.) From Engine Area
 

So today I was getting onto the freeway today and redlined in 2nd gear (of course!).. I shifted into 3rd and didn't accelerate too hard after that, but got it to around 5k or 6k and then shifted into 4th. As I was going into 4th I noticed that I really had to jamb it in there. It seemed like I had to really guide it in there. (4th gear in my car has always had a 'catch' going into it). Coming out of 4th was smooth. I was cruising just a few seconds later and started to realize that I felt the gas pedal gently vibrating. Towards the front of the car I could sort of hear something weird. Kind of like I was driving over rumble strips.. But VERY faintly.

I don't know if it was just me, but the acceleration felt a little slower too.. Same with the noise

Other stuff worth noting: BHR Ignition added about a month ago.. No problems so far.
Been going thru gas like crazy lately.. Like more than usual. Fuel system issues (???)
When I start the car and let it warm up for a min or two.. I can smell a little bit of gas (not a lot though).

Aghhghhhhhhhh.. Haha kind of embarrassing lol.

A few days ago I was going into a small round-a-bout and this Jimmy Johns dude (they're crazy drivers around here), came to a super late stop and was sticking wayyyy out into my path. (I was like halfway thru the round-a-bout when this happened too.. So it would've been hard to prevent). I tried to avoid him (otherwise he would've nailed me!) and I ended up hitting the curb with my wheel/tire :(

I kind of bounced off of the curb. I was hoping that I just hit my tire. I looked at the damage 30 seconds later (!) when I got home. I scraped the edge of my rim kind of bad. You never really know how low-profile those 19-inchers are until you do something like that! The scrape is totally fixable though.. Cuz I had to fix a few from the previous owner. So no real worries there. It happens.

Then came what I posted about originally. Turns out I... Might have.. Bent the rim. Only slightly though. It just tracks to the right (slightly) at higher (freeway) speeds when you take your hands off the wheel.

Luckily, since they're alloy, I know a place that can bend it back in place!

I'm so paranoid about neighborhood round-a-bouts now.. Ahahah

Still been getting like 9 mpg tho so still kind of worried about that!

Impressed with the BHR tho. It's holding up strong so that's good!!

FWIW, a badly messed up alignment could explain higher fuel consumption and slower acceleration.

As for the fuel smell, I get that, too. Was kind of alarmed that I only smelled it sometimes. Then I realized I'm only sometimes outside on a cold start with the wind blowing my exhaust at me. ;) I'm sure that part's fine unless the smell gets really bad.

Alright thx Fodi.. At least the I'm not the only one smelling gas. Getting wheel fixed this weekend!!

Damn 9 MPG? City or Highway?

I get 20-21 highway

I'd say 65-75 percent city.. So yeah. A lot! Keep my revs up and redline so that doesn't help!!

But still, I used to be getting 14-16 with the same driving.. But something is different.
