Stacked plate oil coolers?
Am currently in the process of doing quite a few upgrades/mods to 09 GT MT with 100K+ miles. Working on oil cooler lines, noticed how badly damaged my oil cooler fins are. I live in Texas and do have to deal with traffic. So heat is an issue. Spirited driving and road trips, but no track at the moment. Looking at stacked plate design because it seems more durable, but have learned the is a pressure difference between the two designs. Did a search but didn't find anything definitive. Have seen a few mentions of fluidyne coolers on the site but not sizes. Does anyone use this type or can suggest where I can go to learn more?

Im not positive, but Stacked plate coolers are liquid liquid coolers. You need a liquid air cooler.

Not sure if we are looking at same thing. Am looking at stacked plate similar to: http://www.bmracing.com/products/702...&md=&smd=&eng=

Just fix the fins or replace the coolers with used stock coolers, there is no need to upgrade. I have had several oil cooler setups.
These and some patience are all that is needed. http://www.ideal-tek.com/uploads/ima...7_Tweezers.jpg |
9K Thanks for your input. Am seeing a lot of crushed areas, not just bent. Might be able to straighten given enough time, but not sure. Used stock coolers is an option. The only facet am really looking at is durability. If I could switch once and forget it, would be worth peace of mind.
