Soggy Clutch Pedal
Just recently my clutch engagement has changed, it has lost a lot of the pedal feel. The clutch doesn't slip, no funny smells or noises, it drives fine. I adjusted the pedal engagement about 2 months ago and everything felt great. The car is a 2010 R3 with ~51000 miles on it.
I didn't think SII's had the weak pedals, but I looked at the pedal assembly anyways. Far as I can tell everything is ok, nothing is cracked or broken. I can "sway" the bracket a little bit from side to side, but based on the gauge of the steel I'm not surprised it moves a little bit. Should it feel like rock solid? I don't see any leaks by the clutch master cylinder in the engine bay, the stock rubber clutch line looks fine, no bulges or anything. Ideas? |
Only early 2009's got hit with tail end of the clutch bracket TSB, so you should be ok on that front. Nevertheless, the TSB might help you inspect the bracket:

Soggy clutch
Hi. I have a 2010 and mine does the same thing. Soggy clutch. 59,000 miles.
It seems to only be when it's cold though. As it warms up it seems to not stick as bad. No problems shifting, no unusual noises. |
I had a similar problem with my clutch @ 36,000 miles. I checked for any cracks or bending since I read about the clutch bracket problems from the S1, everything looked fine.
The problem pretty much only occurred when it was cold. It seems the clutch and brake share the same fluid so I added a bit with new fluid and after a few days the problem has not happened since. |
