S2 Owners, Post Up Some Data Logs!
So I have been chatting up with the SARX guys on FB and we came across something interesting. Now we really haven't got to a point where people are familiar with the S2's ECU maps, so for all I know, this is "normal". I am interested in seeing what others' logs look like:
https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...99530831_o.jpg As you can see, car goes nutty rich at like 5K !? AFR scale is on the primary axis (left) MAFv, Absolute Load is on secondary axis (right) RPM is on the X axis |

side note: Dont mind the peak lean, i was coasting before my pull cause it was a turn

Trying to find his dyno sheet, but Brettus, not sure if you remember this post from the S2 ECU Tuning thread ...

What do I expect to gain? Nothing really as far as horsepower. If they can figure something out to give me some ponies, great. If not, no loss. Am doing this to validate MazdaEdit can in fact do a S2 tune or not. If it does, THEN we can start looking at upgrades and FI for S2's that need a tune. I'm one of those that would like to go FI, but I really liked the little creature comforts of the S2.

*smacks head* duh sorry. What are the odds that aftermarket ignition causes the rich condition? What are the odds this is "normal" since the aforementioned user also stated a rich condition

As the user in question, while I wasn't tracking AFR's at that point, my dyno stayed fairly consistent from before and after coils. The rotary shop where my first dyno was done didn't map AFRs but tuner shop did. Have access to look at pretty much anything via obd port and DashCommand. Anything you want me to track?

It's not that rich from 5500 at all . I'd say pretty good actually.

The target is 13.1 and he is seeing 11.1 to 12.2...
Doesn't seem right, unless its not supposed to meet its target. |

the more i look at logs etc the more I agree with Racing Beat. Dont tune for a/f's--tune for power.
a/f's are not as important as ignition timing when tuning per RB. RB's track ecu reflash has the a/f's in the 13 low 14's at 8K rpm and full load! |

It would be awesome if you could try and get a log like mine. I simply just did a pull to 8k while tracking AFR, MAF and Load. It would be interesting to see similar results...at least it would put my mind at ease.
Even the parts where it gets down to 11.5ish? That seems crazy for NA no? |
oh ok well then i wont fret about it till i can start tuning :). Silly SARXers telling me somethin is borked with my tune. :-p

What did you use to collect this data?
How much ethanol was in the fuel you were using for this pull (or am I digging too deep here?)? |
