RX8 headlights turn on automatically after batter change

The headlights on my RX8 turns on automatically at night after I changed to a new battery and there seems to be no on/off button to switch off this function. Could it be the settings has changed? Anyone has encountered such a problem before?

It's not a problem, it's a feature... :icon_no2:

but the thing is there seems to be no way to turn off this feature... has anyone else got this feature on their cars?

Strange. It sounds like you have your headlight switch set to 'Auto'. This is caused by the auto light meter. Check your column and verify your lights switch is not turned all the way to Auto, which is the furtherest back it can be rotated.

If you don't then I would try disconnecting the battery overnight again as something seems wrong. Perhaps after the battery reset a trip trip to the dealer.

I know this would annoy me as I hate the auto light sensor. I prefer to control my lights and wipers. I wish I could remove the stupid thing.

but the thing is... mine doesnt come with the control on the stalk... i didnt even know it came with the auto function... i wonder if i need to reset it with the computer?

Wait.....

You don't have a light switch on your steering column? Impossible cause you need it for turn signals. You probably have the auto wipers as well.

Perhaps you should visit the dealer and have them show you how this whole thing works....
