Oil changes
Hello All,
I want to know your opinions on where the best place is to get an oil change. Should I take it to mazda or quick lube or a somewhere else. Mazda has quote me 52$ +tax. I would do it myself but I live in a condo. Moving into a house next summer so I will prob need an oil change or two till then. Thanks in advance. |
No matter where you take it they could easily screw it up. However I think you have better odds at the Mazda dealer. They would also then have the record of you coming in.
In the apartments I lived in before they said no major mechanical work but I did all sorts of things in the parking lot anyway, never had an issue. |
Agree dealer is best. Quick lube places? I judge 'em on a case-by-case basis. Lots of horror stories out there, but on the other hand I took my Miata to the same Pennzoil Quick Lube place for years. They were always clean, careful and let me watch while they did it. Can't beat that.

Ok, the mazda dealer it is.
Thanks for the quick reply guys. happy holidays |
I stopped taking my cars to Iffy Lube when I saw a "technician" tightening the oil drain plug by hitting the wrench with a hammer.

How else do you keep it from leaking? srsly?! :dunno:
You shouldn't need to tighten aggressively if you've used a crush washer. I've never had to torque up the elbow torque wrench on the drain plug. |
