Lubricating housing?

ASH, I remember you said when you turn on and off the ignition, the OMP injects a small amount of oil into the housing?
so I'm storing my R3 for winter, can I just cycle the ignition on and off a couple times then press the gas pedal to the floor and turn the engine without starting to lubricate the housing?
just wanted to cover the housing with some oil to prevent rust.

Got to remember mate that there needs to be Oil Pressure (from Engines Oil Pump) available/inside each of the two EMOP's...after you turn off.

Obviously when you normally turn OFF a hot engine your engine Oil Pressure is maintained for a short period of time, remember the EMOP's require between 7-22 PSI inside each chamber.

So without Oil Pressure present after a say 5 minutes of engine off I cant see how any or much oil would get to the face of the Rotor Housings, and there is just not that much of oil normally anyway.

It is meant to lube the Apex Seal/Corner Seal ends or tips only.

Even flattening Gas Pedal and Turning engine over is IMO not a great Idea.

To be honest I really would not worry about it.

You could run a heavy dose of pre-mix in gas before you hibernate her...

But you would be OK...:)
