Can someone check something for me? 12V outlet in center console.
 

Does this outlet power off with your car? I bought a Belkin Bluetooth Aux for my car and it's working perfectly, but it doesn't turn off with the car when I use the 12V outlet in center console.

Turns off fine when I use the 12V under the radio. Sucks, because I really like this thing but don't want to run a wire around the console.

Yes the center console power outlet does not turn off with the key. Only the one with the radio.

I have the same belkin bluetooth adapter. I ended up hardwiring it and hid the wires underneath the console. I tapped into the front power outlet under the stereo.

There is a DIY to rewire or reverse the power outlets if you like to do it this way as an alternative.

+1. The center-console outlet doesn't shut off so you can charge electronics in the car without them being visible.

If this device is something you plan to use for the indefinite future, just hardwire it. It's really not complicated, you just have to tap into the back of the fuse box and solder the red wire to power your device, then find a convenient un-painted bolt under some of the plastic trim to use as a grounding point for the black wire.
