2009 Rx8 R3 getting hot?

Alrighty so it's not a really a problem yet as summer isn't here but as I drI've and the car warms up so does the interior, heat turned off and in the cold position if I even have the fan on either way it gets warm in there... only thing I have done is I a few days ago switched out my exhaust, and it seems to get hot in the car pretty Quick great for early morning heading to work sucks mid day in cali lol anyone have an issue like this again it's not the motor getting too hot the temp guage is sitting right in the middle as usual but the heat inside the car is pretty suprising

Is the heat coming from the air vents or through the floor? Under your cup holders is the catalytic converter which can get hot, but shouldn't if it's healthy. Check that it's not glowing after a drive.

If it's the vents, then ignore this :)

Humm I will have to pay attention to it more I know after driving around for a while it gets warm near the cup holders and shifter but I just noticed it within the past few days it seems to get hot quick. If the cat was failing could it possibly be causing this issue. The only thing I did differentlyrics when installing the exhaust was I tightened the spring bolts down more so then what they were when I took them off but that shouldn't effect anything right?

Alrighty so I forgot to look at the cat after driving, but the heat is coming from the shifter area my fiancé had her handbag on the left hand side of the passenger side and it was hot to say the least

Probably a clogged cat, depending how hot it is. The best way to tell is to get a cheapo Bluetooth OBD2 scanner from eBay and check the cat temps.

Might also check for misfires with the ODBII scanner and replace the plugs/wires if so...as this would cause the cat to be damaged (and cause excess heat).
