Side crash sensor location?

I'd like to replace the drivers side crash sensor but don't know where it is located. Any help would be appreciated.

Interesting question - the manuals are not explicit on location, but the sensor shares a wiring loom with the door lock actuator and the door courtesy light, so it looks to be in the door, toward the rear edge.

Thanks!

Really? I thought the sensor was under the carpet along the side rail?

Pretty sure there’s only one crash zone sensor at the front mounted on the RH side of the hood latch. The front seats have sensors on the sliding tracks for the front air bag deployment strategy. Then there’s only the SAS module under the front end of the center console. Otherwise refer to the electrical diagrams.

The curved section is where the relevant loom crosses the door hinge.
The other two terminals are Lock Actuator & Door Courtesy Light.

Ok, well the electrical wiring diagrams don’t have anything else indicated other than what’s stated in my previous post. So I’m fairly sure the info posted there accurately reflects the basic system sensing components. If there was anything else then it would also be shown on the wiring diagram(s).

The sensor is located just under the bar that the seatbelt loops around. Not in the door. Unfortunately after swapping it out and resetting the ecu (I pulled the neg terminal before I started) I'm still getting the same code. I did notice the one I put in had an s1 after the part number where the stock one was s2. Otherwise they were identical. Any ideas? I'd rather not buy a new one if possible as they were around $350 when I looked when used ones run $15-$25.

It’s not a sensor. There are only two main sensors in the entire system. The SAS module and the Crash Zone Sensor. There are two sub-sensors for the Driver and Passenger Air Bags to determine how they should deploy. Everything else is a slave device.

My car was crashed and the drivers seat and side curtain were deployed. I replaced them both with used units and have code 13 now. What else needs to be replaced? The drivers side sub sensor and how do you clear the codes?

If I remember right, codes such as those require dealer software to reset as they are different than your "common" codes read by obd2. I could be wrong however
